Hurghada
Hurghada is located 530 kilometers southeast of Cairo and 286 kilometers northeast of Luxor. With the construction of the road connecting the River Nile Valley near Edfu to the Red Sea, Hurghada has become more accessible, making it a popular stopover for travelers. Many visitors who stay in Hurghada also take the opportunity to explore the Nile Valley, while those traveling through Luxor often make Hurghada their coastal destination.
Although Hurghada is about 760 kilometers west of Sharm El Sheikh, a ferry now operates between the two cities, crossing the Red Sea and offering a convenient way for tourists to experience both destinations on the same trip.
Hurghada began its development in the 1980s and has since been expanded by both Egyptian and international investors to become the premier coastal resort of the Red Sea. Its wide range of holiday resorts and hotels cater to every type of traveler, with abundant water sports facilities for windsurfers, kite surfers, sailors, divers, and snorkelers. Renowned for its vibrant water sports scene, lively nightlife, and warm, sunny climate, Hurghada is the perfect destination for those seeking both adventure and relaxation.
